ARCH Abrasive Wheels Awareness Training provides essential knowledge for the safe use, handling, and maintenance of abrasive wheels, ensuring compliance with national regulations, including PUWER 1998 (UK/NI) and the Safety in Industry (Abrasive Wheels) Regulations, 1982 (RoI). This training is designed to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries associated with grinding, cutting, and polishing operations.


Course Content

  1. Legislation & Safety Standards: Understanding Safety guidelines & regulations.
  2. Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment: Recognising dangers such as wheel bursts, dust, noise, and vibration.
  3. Wheel Selection & Mounting: Choosing the correct wheel for the task and safe fitting procedures.
  4. Safe Operation Techniques: Best practices for handling grinders, cut-off saws, and bench-mounted equipment.
  5. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Proper use of gloves, eye protection, and respiratory equipment.
  6. Emergency Procedures & Incident Reporting: Responding to accidents and ensuring workplace safety.
